Openly right: Simon Cowell is a proudly conservative Brit.
He's out! He's openly right!
He's a conservative Brit!
Yes, it's ok to be right. In fact, it's COOL to be right. So come on out of that closet, righties! Rise and roar and be seen and heard! We matter! We're never going away! We're here to stay! We will never be assimilated! The Progs better get used to it!
Hoo-ah! Yeah! Riiiiiight!

You realize of course that they're faced with the same electoral "first past the post" bullshit that we are in Canada. They hardly contemplate a "minority" government, they use the term "hung parliament" but then again they also use the antiquated term "honourable gentleman".
I'm surprised the feminazis don't get mad over the term "hung parliament". It's sooooo male-exclusive, after all, implying that only people who're "hung" belong in Parliament...
"Hung Parliament". That sounds like a homoporno movie... I don't want to know what "filibuster" or "prorogue" would mean in that context...
lol @ Hung Parliament Sentinel. All I thought was 'hung jury' so I must not be a feminazi.
Anyway of course a lot of people think Cowel is a smug rich pig so they won't care what he has to say, but it's good to see other views in print for a change.
My friends there that talk about their political leanings all want the Lib Dems to win. I respect their opinions, I don't have to live there - they do, so it's their choice and their vote, not mine. However I can't help but wonder whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy and I just leave it at that (mostly silent wonderings lol).
I guess they'll have to quit saying "Members of Parliament", too, for the same reason... too male-exclusive... Maybe call 'em "Gonads of Parliament" or "Assholes of Parliament", 'cause it's gender-neutral...
Your Brit buddies sound like the folks who voted for Obama. They, too, should be polled after they vote, to find out whether they have any idea what the LDs stand for, what policies they pushed, etc. Betcha they won't know, either, just like the Obama voters didn't. Apparently, sheep can vote!
I don't know.. a few of them seem to really look into it and it's their right to have their vote the way they want it. But when I personally read up on a few things by the Lib Dems, I can't help but wonder whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy yet again lol. But people are different and that's the way it is. To be honest, I wasn't too keen on Cameron either from a few things he has said, but we have to remember that 'conservatives' in britain and canada are different lol. But i don't want to see them going even further left with the lib dems! But that's just me and I don't live there anymore and can't vote lol.
Kez, I see no reason for the Brits to go through all that expenses in an election to vote for a lib-dem, who will take them further to the left.
It truly baffles me but yet another friend wrote this morning that they really hope the LibDems win. I would love to pick their brains but politics ends up being a No Fly Zone between most of my friends that are on opposite ends of the spectrum. I don't understand it at ALL and I have even posted links for them to read sometimes but it doesn't seem to make a difference so I just watch and wonder from afar.
...opposite ends of the [political] spectrum.
I'm not sure that spectrum is an adequate descriptor any more; perhaps Mobius Strip...
Join the club, Kez.
I mean WELCOME to the club. Brainfart... Tired... gotta hit the sack, gotta get up real, real early to work...
"They, too, should be polled..."
I agree. Poll them.
Poll them to tears.
People often regret what they say when they are being polled.
Let's all try to make sure that happens.
Then perhaps they will be sufficiently em-"bare"-assed (exposed) and behave more conservatively.
I know, I know. They have no sense of shame....like Pa Bulican...
No, no. Sorry.... no sense at all.
