Crazy New French Law

 Al and Peg Bundy.
They're lucky they don't live in France.
French politicians want to treat people like them as deranged criminals, just because they're rude to each other.

Apparently French politicians have lost their minds.

Making it a crime to be rude, to be an asshole, to be insulting, etc., towards one's spouse.

Guess that logically means that pretty much all married people are criminals, then.  Whoever heard of a marriage that didn't at least involve, for example, the occasional slip of the tongue borne of a brainfart suffered by a grumpy sleep-deprived hubby or wife?  C'mon... rudeness is part of being human.  There's no avoiding being occasionally rude to those one loves.  It's inevitable, because human beings are imperfect, after all.  Why criminalize humanity?  My, but how... Leftist.

Imagine how the state apparatus would enforce this.  What an expensive, logistical nightmare.  What Hard-Left insanity!  Why further require more and more government for such a silly reason?

I think they've had a bit too much Chateauneuf du Pape Cotes du Rhone.

Kind of a variation of the ridiculous "hate speech" concept invented and discriminatively, unequally, unfairly, unconstitutionally enforced by deranged Left-Wing Extremists in the state apparati of the Free World.

Irrationality.  Illogicality.  Unrealism.

It's stupid to believe that the state apparatus can be used to make a population be more polite, by simply criminalizing rudeness!

Those Leftists... they think the state is somehow a god.  They think the state can do anything.  Just because it's big and all that, they think it must necessarily be omnipotent or something.

Of course, they think that everyone must make sacrifices to the state "god".  That's why they confiscate our money all the time.  But what their "god" promised, through its propagandists, really doesn't get delivered.  No wonder people are leaving that faith all the time, particularly in America, where a guy named Obama was pretty much sold to voters as if he was some kind of god (which some in the Big Old Media apparently believe he is!).

That's pretty much why I never do and never, ever will vote for Leftist politicians and parties!

Oh, and it also appears that those French politicians want to import an intended-for-humor-only figment of Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld's imagination into French real life.

In France, people like the New York Four would be imprisoned for a year... just for being assholes.
Who would be next?  You and me!
God help France!

Nothing To See Here, Folks

Sheesh.

After ignoring the American Tea Party demonstrations, no matter how massive and how obviously grassroots and non-partisan they were, the Toronto Star is attempting to create an illusion that there's a "tea party" of sorts brewing to surge against the Canadian government... just because they're giving MPs a couple of extra months off following the Christmas break, during which Canada will host the winter Olympics, by the way.

So the TS gathers a handful of students and such to say nasty stuff about it.

Big deal.  Sounds like a bunch of youthful, Astroturfy teabaggers who don't know what they're talking about, community-organizers-wannabe.  Betcha they're connected to the Liberals and the NDP.  Left-wing extremists.  Not worth noting, unless they prove themselves legitimate, as did the American People who've been derided by the likes of the TS as "teabaggers" and such.

Betcha ACORN-Canada's somehow involved.  Bloody Left-Wing Extremist mobsters goosestepping around with swastikas, hellbent on violence and all that crap.  Betcha they're all racists, hating a white man in 24 Sussex Drive.  Call CSIS!  Tell the cops to profile and watch out for Left-Wing Extremists!

Hey, this is fun.  I like calling Leftists the same stuff they call non-Leftists.  Wheee!

Let's talk about Tiger Woods and his bimbos instead, OK?  Let's scare people by telling them that every time they turn on the lights, they're destroying Earth!

Prosecutorial Coverup Led To Wrongful Conviction Of US Soldier In Al Qaeda Death

Story here.

Emphasis mine.
The dispute arose because of the testimony prepared by Herbert MacDonell, a forensics expert who heads the Laboratory for Forensic Science in Corning, N.Y. Called by the prosecution, he concluded that Behenna's account of the situation was the truth, and prosecutors then did not have him testify.

They also declined to inform the defense of MacDonell's observations until after the conviction.

In an e-mail obtained by defense counsel after the trial was concluded, MacDonell wrote he was "concerned" he was not allowed to testify "and have a chance to inform the court of the only logical explanation for this shooting."

He said, "As I demonstrated to you and to the other two prosecutors, Dr. Berg, Sgt. McCaulley, and Sgt. Rogers, from the evidence I feel that Ali Mansur had to have been shot in his chest when he was standing. As he dropped straight down he was shot again at the very instant that his head passed in front of the muzzle.

"Admittedly, this would be an amazing coincidence, however, it fits the facts and … I cannot think of a more logical explanation," he continued.
Obviously, the only party who did wrong here is the Prosecution, who obviously hates American soldiers!

I wonder who are the Prosecution.  Are they Left-Wing Extremists, The Enemy Within?  Of course it's possible, and obvious to the astute observer, that the justice system in America is full of corrupt, unscrupulous ideological extremists.  One need only add up all the evidence of wrongdoing on the part of so many players... prosecution, defence, judges, the DOJ, etc...  Politics, ideology and agenda plays a huge role, obviously.

The conviction must obviously be overturned.  The forensic expert's testimony is critical, and the Prosecution, in covering it up until after getting a conviction, is clearly guilty of wilful misconduct and must face appropriate consequences.

Prop 8 Judge's Unscrupulous, Suspicious Actions

Has the militant, revolutionary homosexual-"marriage" lobby gotten to Judge Vaughn Walker, who's presiding over the Proposition 8 case?

Or is the Judge already on their side?  Was he appointed to the bench due to Hard-Leftist worldview and activist orientation?

Eyebrow-raising story here.  More corruption on the bench.  Obviously the judge is a Radical Left-Wing Extremist.

(Emphasis mine)
Walker’s New Year’s Eve surprise is a critical step in his evident ongoing effort to turn the lawsuit into a high-profile, culture-transforming, history-making, Scopes-style show trial of Proposition 8’s sponsors. Specifically, Walker is rushing to override longstanding prohibitions on televised coverage of federal trials so that he can authorize televised coverage of the Proposition 8 trial. Televised coverage would generate much greater publicity for ringmaster Walker’s circus. And, whether Walker desires the effect or is somehow blind to it, televised coverage would surely also heighten the prospect that witnesses and attorneys supporting Proposition 8 would face harassment, intimidation, and abuse.

(...)

Counsel for Proposition 8’s sponsors learned of the purported amendment only after they had submitted a letter to Walker on December 28 that reiterated their objections to televising the courtroom proceedings and explained that televised proceedings would violate the court’s rules. In a follow-up letter on December 29, they explained that the purported amendment was unlawful.

Evidently realizing that his December 22 action was in fact unlawful, Walker directed that the December 31 notice inviting public comment be issued. But it’s clearly because of the purpose of the proposed revision — to enable televised coverage of the Proposition 8 case — that the period for public comments, which typically would run for 30 days or more, is so ridiculously short: It ends the Friday before the trial begins, so Walker will have time to rubber-stamp the revised rule. Walker might be able to claim that he will have technically complied with the governing federal statute, but his notice, issued on New Year’s Eve and affording only five business days for comment, could hardly be better calculated to evade the purpose of the statute.

These are kangaroo-court procedures. As counsel for the Proposition 8 sponsors spell out in their letters opposing televised proceedings, the fair-trial concerns that animate the Judicial Conference’s opposition to televised proceedings apply with special force in this case. Given all the harassment of Proposition 8 supporters that has already occurred, “it is not surprising,” as counsel’s December 28 letter puts it, that “potential witnesses have already expressed to [counsel] their great distress at the prospect of having their testimony televised” and that “some potential witnesses have indicated that they will not be willing to testify at all if the trial is broadcast or webcast beyond the courthouse.” The likelihood of intensified harassment of counsel is also obvious.

Clearly, the judge's objective here is to intimidate.  This is wrong, unlawful and unconstitutional.

Of course, however, I fully expect the Left to jump automatically to the judge's defence, claiming that "there's nothing wrong with putting it on TV", conveniently ignoring the obviousness that there would be negative consequences stemming from televising a case of such an explosive nature.  We already know that opponents of Prop. 8 have indicated they're prepared to resort to violence to get what they want, and some already have.  And such violence would be motivated by hatred- religious and racial, for example.  Some of the extremists who oppose Prop. 8 have physically attacked Christians and have uttered hateful racial epithets at blacks.  Of course, the Big Old Media ignored it all, refusing to report such newsworthy incidents, thus protecting the extremists from fair consequences.  Why should these ultra-special, ultra-protected, ultra-exempt extremists be protected from appropriate consequences for such behavior as this?

See how far the Hard Left is willing to go to get what it wants?

See that the Hard Left doesn't want to follow the rules that're supposed to apply to everyone equally?  See how they believe that they're exempt, that they're specially permitted to do whatever they want to get what they want?

Left Is Religion, Needs To Separate From Politics

Hmm.  Makes sense!

In Horowitz’s book The Politics of Bad Faith, the intellectual companion to Radical Son, he makes one of his most critical diagnoses of the Left in the second essay, titled “The Religious Roots of Radicalism.” Horowitz explains how the Jewish religious concept of Tikkun Olam – the quest to heal the world and pursue “social justice” – was incorporated by Karl Marx and other 19th century radical godfathers into the heart of the socialist cause. The religious became political. This insight has informed all of Horowitz’s work. The Left is a political faith.

This has been the Left’s problem since it began: it has sought to use political tools and government institutions to bring about religious ends. And as such it has failed repeatedly.

(...)

The world could not be effectively changed at the level of government. Merely passing laws, smashing institutions, and electing better politicians would not work to heal the world. To do so was to not really go to the root of the problem. To pursue tikkun olam effectively, to truly be progressive, to be radical in spirit, one must operate at the level of individual people – not governments, laws, and institutions.

This approach takes the Left out of the political arena and returns it to the religious realm from which it originally emerged. Focusing on healing individual souls is the way churches and synagogues function. And here’s the secret: it works. Good houses of worship do heal people’s souls and make them better people.
You know... the Left is always harping about the mythical dogma of "separation of church and state" but doesn't practice what it preaches.  As Leftism is really a religion, a belief, and not founded in the physical world, it has no business imposing its beliefs onto others.  Yet it does anyway.  And we know how badly it turns out when it does.

The Right is about what works, about pragmatism, about realism, the opposite of what the Left is about.

So, logically, political alternatives shouldn't be about Right and Left and Center, but rather about which Rightist party has the credibility, the ideas and the plan for good government.

The Left, bizarrely, wants all political parties to be Leftist, as we see in how they keep telling non-Leftists to "become more moderate" (which means to abandon respect for reality and pragmatism and to become more dogmatic, accepting Leftist beliefs that we already know don't work in politics and government).  Really, the Left should go back to whence it came, the houses of worship, and quit pretending that they've got the solutions to real-world problems.

Leftism is more spiritual and dogmatic than down-to-earth.  But not in a healthy way, as it is with modern, sophisticated JudeoChristianity, what with their pragmatism in dealing with reality.

So it's no surprise that Free World Leftists are closer in ideology to dogmatic political entities and regimes that don't work as they're supposed to according to their dogmas, than to the Free World Right, which was getting things right before things began to get screwed up in the 1960s and beyond as the Left asserted itself more and more and more everywhere.  After all, it was the dogma of "social justice" that caused the recent global recession, ie. the Democrats' policy of forcing lending institutions to lend huge amounts of money to people who couldn't afford to repay the loans.  Eventually the defaults caused the credit crisis, the downfall of many banks, the global recession, and all that crap.  It's all the Left's fault, and the fault of supposed Rightists (Bush) who succumbed to some of the same seductive temptations as have hardcore Leftists, and failed to halt the growing problem before it became a catastrophe.

It's also a dogma that appeasing evil will make evil good.  History teaches this irrefutable truth, but Leftists deny this, deny that we should fight evil (like when we stand up to, and push back, bullies, as opposed to submitting to their oppression and tyranny!) rather than reward it for being as it is.  Again it's about clinging stubbornly to their dogmas in the face of undeniable truth.  So forges ahead the Left, currently exemplified by Barack Hussein Obama the Hapless and Clueless who babbles lightheadedly about the words "hope" and "change", neither of which apparently mean a thing in reality.  Next thing you know, he'll start performing weird rituals as he delivers his teleprompted sermons via the Big Old Media pulpit.

Inside The Revolution

In Iran.

As a student dissident in Iran, Amir Fakhravar was jailed and tortured for his pro-democracy political activism. Since moving to the United States in 2006, he has continued to take part in Iran’s opposition movement. He serves as the secretary general of the Confederation of Iranian Students and the president of the Iranian Enterprise Institute. Last week, Fakhravar’s 18-year-old-brother, Arash, was arrested by the Iranian regime. After three days of absence, the Fakhravar family learned that Arash had been arrested, beaten up and taken to the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran, then placed in solitary confinement in an undisclosed location. Amir Fakhravar spoke to Front Page about his brother’s arrest, Iran’s growing “green revolution,” and the best strategy for ending the mullahs’ three-decade rule.
How is he working on freeing his brother and taking down the evil Regime?   Read about it.

I'd also highlight the following:

Fakhravar: What has happened is that something many thought was a small movement has become a revolution. After the summer election, the government tried to strike fear into the people, but millions came out into the streets in Iran’s major cities. After seven months, they are showing that they are not going to give up. The recent death of Ayatollah Montazeri was a good excuse for this new generation to oppose the government because he had fought [Ayatollah] Khomeini for twenty years. The latest demonstrations have taken place during the Ashura festival, which is a symbol of the Islamic Republic and Shiism. This is a sign that they want to get rid of the mullahs and they are not afraid anymore. [Politician and presidential challenger] Mir Hossein Mousavi has said it best: We are not leading these people. They are leading themselves.
"They are leading themselves".  Kind of like Iranian "teabaggers", as the Left would pejoratively call such folks who refuse to be oppressed and tyrannized by an arrogant regime who serves its own extreme agenda instead of The People.

Fakhravar: This movement doesn’t have a leader, but things like Facebook help. We use social media to help organize events inside Iran. For instance, we are planning a demonstration in February to coincide with the 31st anniversary of the Iranian revolution. Earlier this year, I was giving a speech before Congress and I said, “Iranians don’t want a war. All we need are cell phones, cameras and computers.” Some of the Senators laughed at that. But it has happened. We are close to a cyber revolution in Iran.
Hey!  How about that!  The Iranian People are a LOT more like us folks in the Free World that I thought!  They can't stand Islamic Supremacists and tyrannical socialism, either, and know how to bring down the regime without bloodshed (well, without the amount that would normally be expected, without the advantage of modern communications networks, that is, and how they can be used as devastating weapons against a bully regime and to bypass the existing Big Old Media).

Fakhravar: Most of the demonstrators are young – 70 percent are under the age of 35 – and they are not motivated by partisan politics. They are not communists or Marxists or monarchists; they are not involved with political parties and they don’t want to be. Via the internet, they know a lot about American culture – perhaps more than many people here – and they want the things it represents: life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness. They are secular and they want a country where Islam is kept separate from the government. A free, secular, democratic Iran – that is their dream.
No wonder the likes of the Mullahs and the Pipsqueak Ahmadinejad are always trying to demonize America.  Because when downtrodden Non-Free-World People learn the truth about America, it makes  their Non-Free-World regimes look horrible and makes them want to get rid of these regimes and bring to their nations what great things, ie. freedom, democracy, the rule of law and human rights, to their nations.

Meanwhile, the American People are learning the truth about their own current regime and are also having a revolution of their own.  Fortunately, they have a way of removing the regime and its figurehead, in 2010 and 2012, respectively.

Of couse, it's more complicated in Iran, as, after all, the "democracy" allowed by the Iranian regime is clearly a sham.  All that happens is going through the voting motions, and, regardless of how the People voted, the regime will simply declare itself "re-elected".  Nothing stopping them from doing that, so they do it.

And that's part of the reason why there's now a revolution in Iran... to reverse the previous revolution that brought Islamic Supremacism into the nation and imposed all that horrible crap onto the People against their will.

And, just like with the Leftist community organizers in America and their bashing of all things non-Leftist and non-Obamacrat-Agenda, the Iranian Regime organizes fake "demonstrations" to  create the illusion of popular support for it and its Agenda.

The Iranian Regime seems, actually, to have its own ACORN of sorts, and all that stuff the American Left has.

Hmm.  Now I'm beginning to see Obama as America's Ahmadinejad and George Soros et al as the American "mullahs" who really run things and whose directions Obama follows as if a puppet or as if a remote-control cyborg or something like that.  Similar setup and illusion between Iran and America, obviously.  Islam, socialism... very, very similar, actually.

And Mr. Fakhravar is also unimpressed with Obama, whom he says has no idea what to do about Iran.   He says that the Obama admininstration is doing the wrong things and is being unhelpful to the Iranian People.  I agree.  Kissing the evil ass of the Iranian Regime as it kills dissidents all day long is no good, and sends the wrong signals, obviously.  It's clearly wrong to appease evil regimes, as we saw when Chamberlain tried appeasing the Nazis, and as we see right now, today!

Mr. Fakhravar also tells us what he believes must be done to deal with the Regime.  Of course, the rest of the Axis of Evil is dead set against that, against sanctions that would actually materially devastate the Regime and take away the source of its power: money from oil and gas.

The Obamacrat Regime, if it doesn't want there to be a preemptive strike on Iran, then it must act immediately to cut off the source of the Iranian Regime's power.  Such sanctions must be devastating and cannot be symbolic.  They must materially devastate the Regime.  And the Obamacrats must tell the United Nations, especially Russia and China, to go to fecking hell because they're not helping at all.

The way Iran's being treated by the Free World, ie. with appeasement, is only going to lead to catastrophe, just as did the appeasement of the Nazis.  And such catastrophe will make Al Gore's imaginary "climate catastrophe" seem like mere spring showers.

'Peace Process' Fake, 'Play On Words': Rabbis

Story here.

The rabbinic leaders cited reports that after Hamas seized the Gaza Strip from the U.S.-backed Fatah organization, over $1 billion in weapons, munitions and U.S.-funded infrastructure was taken over by Hamas. They also cited a WND report quoting Gaza-based terrorist leaders stating they seized CIA security files stored at major Fatah compounds.

"The past 17 years have proven without a shadow of a doubt that every square inch ceded by Israel to the Palestinians was transformed into a platform of hatred and terrorism," Rabbi Avrohom Shmuel Lewin, RCP director, told Cunningham.

Sholom Gold, a leading rabbi in Jerusalem, commented the peace process is just "a play of words. There is no peace process."

Continued Gold: "From the day that we started conceding and withdrawing we did not have one day of rest and peace. Why should our enemies want to make peace with us when they see that with terrorism they get what they want?"
Of course, consistent with their nature, Leftists will dismiss this statement of blatantly-obvious fact and continue, nevertheless, to believe in their sacred dogma that the "Palestinians" are just an innocent, downtrodden, victimized-by-Israel-and-not-by-the-Islamic-World-and-the-Neo-Communist-World, people who only want peace.  Sheesh.  What do we expect from the Left, anyway, other than more of the same B.S. about the whole situation plus their politically-correct, crippling mental disorder of Jew-hatred-hidden-underneath-politically-correct-anti-Israel-discrimination?

Quote Of The Day

Ever since the French Revolution, radical “equality” and conservative “liberty” have opposed each other as the defining agendas of Left and Right. For radicals, freedom is the power to redefine human destiny and has invariably meant, the surrender of individual autonomy to the radical project, to collective truth and the “progressive” idea. For conservatives, in contrast, liberty is relief for the individual from collective power. It is secured by “negative rights,” by limits to government. Liberty is made possible by the civilizing bonds of social order, and restraints on the coercive power of civil authority. The conservative goal is democratic, but it is also circumspect and modest (and so, deeply unsatisfying to the radical soul). Better to live with some injustices than, by seeking perfect justice, create a world with none. This is the political caution that has been etched in blood on the historical ledger of the last 200 years. It is the lesson the Left refuses to learn. It is this refusal that makes radicals the dangerous reactionaries of the post-modern world.

This very denial of history, however, also creates the political mask that allows leftists to appear as social reformers. Refusing to acknowledge any connection to the destructive consequences of their radical faith, the Left has been able to hijack the vocabulary of political discourse, to appropriate the terms “democratic” and “progressive,” and now even “liberal” and “market,” and to frame its agendas in the misleading imagery of “social justice.” The Left flies under permanently false colors. It is neither liberal nor progressive, and the justice it promises is achievable only through political coercion and totalitarian terror.

Despite the Left’s surface adjustment to historical realities in the post-Communist era, the character of its project remains stubbornly the same. This project, as before, is antithetic to the American paradigm and the stoic realism in which its liberties are grounded. The opposition is so fundamental that even those left-wing revisionists who have accepted a part of the democratic achievement, and call themselves “democratic socialists,” reveal a profound and dedicated hostility to the American founding and its political truths.
