Liberal "Leader" Challenges Gov't on Economy, But Makes No Case

Dazed, confused and clueless: Liberal "leader" Stephane Dion thinks that the economy is in bad shape, believing the unsupported media sensationalism and accuses the Harper Conservative government of dropping the economic ball, without backing up his accusation.

Story here. h/t: NationalNewswatch.com

The rumors of economic dire straits for Canada are greatly exaggerated. Here's why.

The Liberals are scrambling to do damage control to try to distract us from the Harper Conservatives' recently reminding us that the Liberals have made so many billions of dollars worth of promises that it'd be impossible to keep them without plunging Canada deeply into deficit and running up the debt again.

So they make unfounded accusations of the government somehow doing nothing to keep the economy on solid footing, doing nothing to prepare us for possible recessionary pressures. Really, do they expect the reasonable person to just take their word for it without any specific reasons offered as to why to believe them?

I'd also remind Canadians that we don't believe in corporate welfare, but we see the Liberals and other Leftist parties demanding welfare handouts to industry! Now, we know that this isn't the way to go, certainly not in the long run. Corporate welfare does nothing to make the Canadian business environment more competitive, nothing to make this an attractive country in which to do business, nothing to spur productivity, nothing to reduce the taxation and red tape burden on business. At least the Harper Conservatives have actually been working on this file, and have already put into place phased reductions in corporate tax rates.

The Liberals have nothing to offer. Nothing to say to convince Canadian voters that they'd be better than, or even anywhere near as good as, the Harper Conservatives have been, and the Harper Conservatives have been great, not that one would be reminded of precisely how by the mainstream media, which appears to not want to give the Conservatives rightful positive coverage, in terms of, for example, ensuring national unity, keeping the economy strong and making it stronger, keeping their promises, cutting taxes, undertaking to rebuild the military and restoring Canada's standing in the world by being a real leader in foreign affairs.

We've got a great thing going with the Harper Conservatives. Why on earth would we vote to end that in favor of something we know full well will only screw everything up all over again? Come on; if you were unsure until now, give your head a shake and face reality: The Harper Conservatives are really, really good, and deserve our vote to stay the course, to keep up the good work to keep Canada becoming ever-greater. Remember, the best is yet to come!
