PHOENIX — A young Iraqi woman whose father allegedly hit her with his car because she had become too Westernized died from her injuries Monday after lying in a coma for nearly two weeks.

Noor Faleh Almaleki, 20, underwent spinal surgery and had been in a hospital since Oct. 20, when police say her father ran down her and her boyfriend's mother with his Jeep as the women were walking across a parking lot in the west Phoenix suburb of Peoria.

The other woman, Amal Khalaf, is expected to survive.

Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, fled after the attack but was arrested Thursday when he arrived at Atlanta's airport, where he was sent from the United Kingdom after authorities denied him entrance.

He tried to flee the country. I guess cowardice is Islamic, too.

Here we go again. Another Left-Wing Extremist calling a boring moderate an "extremist" just because he refuses to be extreme like the pot calling him black. Talk about silly and illogical, eh... talk about Linda McQuaig.

I see Linda's writing in the Toronto (Red) Star. Cliche, eh!

Linda McQuaig. Yeesh. That name reminds me of the name attached to communism-oriented economic drivel which a former communism-oriented economics professor of mine (the one who brought Noam Chomsky to campus) always made me read (along with all the drivel by Chomksy!). Luckily I was resistant to the indoctrination even back then as a still-wet-behind-the-ears early-twenties kid and actually expressed plenty of skepticism in class.

Incidentally, here's Linda McQuaig drinking and conspiring with none other than Peter Donolo, former Chretien Regime behind-the-curtain guy and new Chief of Staff of Liberal Leader Ignatieff:

It's clear to me that Linda McQuaig hates Israel, and that she's using Harper's support for Israel to label him "extreme". How cliche, eh!

Linda's claim that Harper is "extreme" falls flat on its face. She makes no case whatsoever, and sounds like another Hard-Left hypocrite, forgetting her own side's beyond-the-pale rhetoric whilst blasting us moderates's calling things as we see them.

Frankly, I was expecting more and better from Linda McQuaig. I was looking forward to dissecting and exposing the nonsensity of what she wrote, but I see there's no need- too easy to see that she's just extreme, and that she hates Israel and calls an "extremist" anyone who supports Israel and who denounces university Israelophobia and Judenhass hostility/intolerance.

$5 To $45 Million For Ads? But Remember Liberals' ADSCAM's Missing $43 Mil?

So it's costing a supposed $5 to $45 million to advertise the government's economic stimulus operation nationwide.

Ok.

But remember the Liberals ADSCAM, a program to advertise Canada to Quebeckers?

Well, due to that, the Liberals made $43 million of the total cost of that advertising to vanish and be unaccounted for. It's suspected that the money was stolen by Liberals.

Speaking of that, the motion to launch a full, independent investigation into that missing $43 million will be introduced in the House today.

How the Liberals, the NDP and the Bloc vote will be interesting to watch. Surely the NDP and Bloc will relish the chance to kick some Liberal ass for political gain. The Liberals, of course, will vote against the motion... gotta try and save their asses, right?

So if the Liberals complain that between five and forty-five million bucks is being spent on advertising (hey, but it's stimulatory for the ad firms, isn't it, and might save some jobs in those businesses!), we can remind them that they caused $43 million of a much larger advertising campaign's funding to go missing, unaccounted for, and it's time for them to account for it!

Arar Continues His 'Legal' Jihad... Against America

Maher Arar was declared by the breathless mainstream media to be a saint whose lamb-like innocence was never tainted by association with terrorists.

Word comes from another media darling -- Omar Khadr -- that Arar in fact was at an Al Qaida safe house in Afghanistan on various occasions, contrary to Arar's denials of ever being in that country.

All of which vindicates one of the most important cover stories the Western Standard ever ran, entitled "What really happened to Maher Arar?" You really must read it -- you'll learn things that just haven't been reported elsewhere, ranging from that fact that Arar's purported injuries from "torture" were never examined by an independent doctor; that when he was picked up by Canadian diplomats in Syria, he showed no signs of torture whatsoever -- only signs of not having bathed. Today, what's Maher Arar up to? Trying to sue the United States.

In a 7-4 decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit agreed with a lower court that Arar could not sue U.S. officials.

The court found that he did not have legal standing to sue and that legal protection and redress in cases such as this should be determined by Congress and not the courts.

Listen to Arar's bizarre, out-there propaganda in response, making himself sound like a lunatic conspiracy theorist, sprouting claims that would get anyone else labelled a "crackpot":

In a statement, Arar said the ruling proves "the court system in the United States has become more or less a tool that the executive branch can easily manipulate through unfounded allegations and fear-mongering."

I betcha he'd also allege that Bush knew that 9/11 was going to happen.

Why believe his claims that he was tortured?

There was never any evidence of torture... just his claims. Claims which he only made after being released, claims that are obviously phony, as those who paid him consular visits had observed zero evidence of the torure he later painstakingly "described". Guy's story doesn't hold up, and collapses totally, under the weight of the evidence, actually!

Why would Syria torture an accused Al Qaeda, anyway? Syria isn't exactly against Al Qaeda.

But remember when William Sampson was tortured by the Saudis? There was plenty of evidence- he had lost a lot of weight and seemed like a very different person, for starters.

And Canada didn't compensate him.

Of course, back then, the Liberals were in power. They didn't give a damn about him, didn't exactly go out of their way to free him from those evil Saudi Islamic supremacists.
