Breaking: Checkpoint Breach at Tucson AFB

This incident I first saw reported in the Northeast Intelligence Network.

Also reporting are
azstarnet.com , TucsonCitizen.com,

From the TucsonCitizen (emphasis mine):

Two men critically injured when their truck slammed into a rising gate at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base have been identified. Police still do not know why the driver apparently tried to run the South Swan Road gate, a Tucson police spokesman said this morning.

(...)

A .45-caliber revolver was found under the driver's feet and a small amount of "white, powdery substance," suspected cocaine, was found on the driver, Robinson said, adding, "there also was a very distinct odor of alcohol in the cab of the truck when investigating officers got there."

(...)

The driver was Fidel Antonio Lopez-Sanchez, 28, who has no local address, Robinson said. The passenger was Saul Cazares Carrillo, 24...

From the AzStarNet:

..."this is not just a traffic incident," he said. "This was a vehicle trying to force its way onto a military base...
(...)

D-M spokesman Capt. DeJon Redd said the incident occurred around 6:45 a.m., when the
driver approached the security gate, encountered the guard on duty and "proceeded to accelerate" past the checkpoint and down the road onto base property.

Well... draw your own analysis. I just hope whatever there is to these dudes, whatever is found out, the authorities don't cover it up if it's something we need to know.

Perhaps it's merely a couple of totally wasted moonbats out to do something totally moonbatty for the helluvit. Let's hope so. Reminds me of the unwashed imbeciles getting themselves arrested on "Cops" with no shirts on and with their pants falling down and everything... for now, I'll call it as such. Then again... things aren't always what they seem. Could it have been a diversion for others to enter the AFB undetected? Why else do such a suicidal thing?

Definitely a mystery...
