Conservatives Up to 20% in Quebec

Since the 1993 election, Quebec has federally been almost exclusively the province of a fight between the Bloc Quebecois and the federal Liberals.

No longer. The Conservatives are now back on the radar screen in La Belle Province with the support of one in five Quebeckers. In fact, they're now tied with the Liberals, who have slumped to 21% themselves.

The significance of this poll for the Conservatives? Whether it would translate into seats is debatable, but it does demonstrate that many more Quebeckers are listening to and are taking the Conservatives seriously and would consider voting for them. No longer can the Tories' political rivals claim that they're not ready for running the country due to nearly no support in Quebec.

The poll is also significant as it signals a strong shift in the perceptions and preferences of Canadian voters in terms of which parties they will support. We've already seen the shift in Ontario and Atlantic Canada along with bolstered strength in the traditional stronghold in the West, and now we see it beginning in Quebec. And it may also hopefully usher in a great new era in Canadian politics which could spell very good things and good times ahead for the federation should the Conservatives win and implement their excellent, sensible, workable policies as well as cleaning up the massive corruption wrought by the crooked old "Liberal" party, which itself has lost the respect and support of four in five Quebeckers.

A Conservative minority is the most likely outcome according to current polling, but I personally am certain that the best thing for Canada and Canadians would be a Conservative majority, as, among other things, it will end political instability and uncertainty and also, due to its superior economic and fiscal policies, will lead to economic expansion all over the federation. It would also strengthen national unity, something the Liberals actually weakened with their cavalier show of disrespect towards not only Quebec but towards Western Canada as well, particularly Alberta.

Granted, the Bloc Quebecois continues to enjoy massive support which will indubitably lead to them winning probably more seats than they had as they entered the election.

But that will change eventually once Quebeckers see for themselves the good government and respect they will definitely receive from the Conservatives led by Stephen Harper.

A Conservative government, particularly a majority one, will be very good for Canada and Canadians. Of this I am absolutely certain.

Stand up for Canada. Vote Conservative.

Cocaine Found on Martin's CSL Ship

Thanks to astute, sharp-eyed commentor Bruce Randall, who provided me with links I requested of him, I provide them for you to read for yourself. As when Bruce mentioned it the other day in the comments of another blog, it was the very first time I became aware of the fact of cocaine having been smuggled aboard a ship belonging to Liberal leader Paul Martin's now-in-the-hands-of-his-sons Canada Steamship Lines, I thought it might also be the first many others heard of it. The people have a right to know of such things, so here we go:

You judge for yourself. Ask yourself: "Why did the police so astonishingly quickly tell the MSM that the owner of the ship, Paul Martin, had nothing to do with the smuggling of the drug on board his ship? How could the police be so certain? After all, if someone had planted illegal drugs into your boat or car and they were discovered by drug-sniffing dogs, would the police immediately assume, without any apparent investigation, that you knew nothing of it? Hmmm...

Multibilliondollar Liberal National Security Scam?

Kate McMillan of Small Dead Animals has posted "Lives on the line" on the CBC's Election Roundtable about the Liberals' having spent $9 billion on "national security" since 9/11. Read it for yourself.

Then ask yourself: what evidence is there that there have been any improvements in national security since 9/11? You learned for yourself from Kate's posting that some border crossings are even worse off than they used to be-- they're being shut down so as to enable all sorts of folks, some of whom can mean catastrophic harm to either side of the border, to enter or exit without breaking a sweat.

Of course the Liberals and Paul Martin must understand the dangers of unmanned border crossings. Obviously, however, they don't care worth a shrew's hiney.

What evidence have the Liberals produced that the billions of dollars have been wisely invested in national security upgrades? We know that the incredibly brave but inadequately-equipped Canadian Armed Forces have received very little reinvestment and continue to struggle just to make ends meet (and even to keep equipment fuelled), the RCMP still hasn't the funding and staff numbers it needs to do its many important jobs, the CSIS doesn't seem to be given any real new priority or investment by the Liberals, etc., etc.

The question must therefore be asked:

What did the Paul Martin Liberals do with that nine billion dollars they took off of our paychecks? Has the money been stolen? Is it yet again being used for the purpose of enrichment of Liberal cronies?

If the money wasn't used for national security, then what, if anything, was it used for?

I hereby demand of Paul Martin: prove we're more secure and safer from terrorist attacks and from acts of war coming from evil empires, or show us the money.

Don't hold your breath. He'll brush off this demand like he brushes off every other demand from us, the people whose hard-earned money he's been taking from us and with which he's been playing fast and loose, footloose and fancy-free, etc., etc.

And remember, the Liberals do NOT deserve our vote. They deserve consequences.

Globe & Mail Exposes Own Bias: Goes Nasty on Harper, Helps Martin

I knew that it would happen. The MSM is already getting into the campaign in a partisan way. Here we have the Globe and Mail itself starting that the long-awaited "nasty" phase of the election campaign and publishing an illogical, unfair and boldly biased spin article slamming Conservative leader Stephen Harper while favoring Liberal leader Paul Martin.

The paper claims Harper has gone negative, simply for pointing out a very well-known fact:

The election campaign's veneer of civility dissolved a little more today as Conservative Leader Stephen Harper accused Liberal rival Paul Martin of trying to reduce the Canadian taxes paid by his private sector company when he still headed the firm.

Note the article claims the "...veneer of civility dissolved..." and blamed Harper for it. Come on, Globe and Mail, what do you think you're doing, with this blatant opinion-editorial slickly, stealthily interspersed within a supposed factual "news" article? Very cleverly manipulative, obviously designed to unfairly influence the reader's perception as to what's going on and to paint Harper in an unjustly negative light while acting as an apologist for Martin's own already-begun actual nasty campaign.

To its credit, the Globe properly points out that:

Mr. Harper was responding to questions about his own love of Canada that were raised Tuesday in a speech by the Liberal leader.

"Mr. Martin has questioned my patriotism," said Mr. Harper, whose frustration was evident.

For some reason, the Globe believed it absolutely necessary to add its opinion as to Harper's state of mind as being "frustrated". So much for simply reporting what was said without opining as to what people are feeling. What qualifies the writer of the article to deem anyone's demeanor?

The Globe goes on to quote Harper:

"The fact is Mr. Martin lived a good deal of his professional life under the flags of other countries and Mr. Martin constantly tried — and was successful, I gather — at avoiding paying taxes in Canada. That's the record."

And doesn't argue against the facts as stated by Harper.

The rest of the article goes on to report Harper's correct explanation that he's only responding with facts to Martin's nasty implication that Harper's supposedly less patriotic than he (and without basis in fact).

The article also quotes Martin's defense of his behavior while head of Canada Steamship Lines:

"I am very proud of having started with a small Canadian company which today builds most of its ships in Canada . . . has the majority of its employees who are Canadian and has its head office in Canada, yet operates around the world," he said.

"In fact, I think that that's what we want to see Canadian companies do from a Canadian base, a Canadian head office, employing Canadians, operating around the world."

Notice how many times Martin said "Canada" and "Canadian"? Why didn't the Globe rightfully raise the question as to why Martin would describe his company as "Canadian" while the ships flew the flags of foreign nations? And why didn't it point out that Martin refused to address his clever avoidance of paying Canadian taxes on his profits, like most Canadians have to do by law or else face prosecution? Why only paint Harper with the brush of editorial opinion and not Martin? Isn't that consistent with bias? One would expect a true professional news organization to scrupulously avoid even the appearance of bias. But as is often the case, this hasn't happened here.

The Globe stealthily lets Martin off the hook while leaving the average reader with the impression that Harper has gone negative and nasty, which is untrue as far as the astute, critical news consumer can see for oneself.

So... I accuse the Globe and Mail of biased reporting against Harper.

And this is a bad thing, as it may improperly influence the thinking of some voters. Interesting, as we have a "gag law" restricting election-campaign free speech by individuals and groups, supposedly to prevent this very "influence" on the thinking of voters during an election. Why would the Liberals bring in such a law (and why did the Supreme Court of Canada uphold it) while allowing the famously Liberal-leaning MSM to either deliberately or negligently manipulate the perceptions of the electorate?

A "Battle of Values"? Sure, Bring it On!

So Prime Minister Paul Martin is going around telling the MSM that the coming weeks of the remainder of the federal election campaign will be about a "battle of values" between his Liberals and the Conservatives.

Most Canadians have seen for themselves what "Liberal" values really are. Crime, corruption, greed, dishonesty, cover-up, starving the military and law enforcement of urgently needed funds, not putting people in jail for possessing handguns despite it being illegal and thus allowing these criminals to run around killing innocents day after day, high taxes, a flatlined economy and fewer high-paying job opportunities due to it, health "care" in which we get the "care" we need only when the bureaucratic authorities deem we shall (normally immediate if we're at death's door but anything less than that, we're forced to suffer painfully, sometimes for months or even years without "care"), racist and sexist civil service hiring practices, cronyism, making Canada a safe haven for terrorists (the Khadrs, for example) and pedophiles (Karla Homolka and Karl Toft, for example, plus an age of consent of fourteen which attracts international pedophiles with an agenda to exploit children), an inquiry into the theft of millions in which the Judge refuses to cancel his appointment of your longtime crony and financial facilitator of your acquisition of Canada Steamship Lines, your very own private, for-profit physician who, coincidentally, made a killing off of the obvious insider trading scandal stemming from the income trust announcement, a complete and utter lack of respect for democracy and for parliament, your campaign of intolerance towards Alberta and towards the western half of the land, your contemptuous disrespect for Quebeckers with AdScam, your continuing imposition of the Liberal doctrine of dependence on the Atlantic Region, etc., etc....

Ok, Paulie. Bring it on! Whatever you can say will mean nothing now, as we've finally become wise to your slimy, scoundrellous scammery.

The Conservatives have been announcing excellent, reasonable, workable policy after policy on a daily basis. You? You merely promise, just to give something to the MSM, to ban handguns which have been banned since even before you even popped out into into the world with that proverbial silver spoon pretentiously protruding from your pompously grimacing mug...

Paulie, you're finished. Read the writing the Liberals are leaving on the stall walls in the little Liberals' room. They're, as I write this, already engaged in a not-so-below-the-radar leadership campaign to replace you. The metaphorical knives are poised and ready for January 24th.

Anyone who would vote Liberal now doesn't have their eyes open and isn't using their brain.

Paul Martin Promised Tsunami Victims $425 Million. Where is the Money?

An email I recently received has prompted me to make this post which I believe an important one. Recall the Tsunami that ravaged some SouthEast Asian nations on Boxing Day 2004. Sri Lanka was one of the affected nations.

This post references the Canada Free Press (CFP) report by Judi McLeod, which is a must-read, as the MSM hasn't bothered with telling us about this crassly broken promise of Paul Martin to poor, suffering tsunami survivors much, if at all. The MSM widely covered the promise, but has so far refused to cover its inexplicable breaking.

Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin on January 3, 2005 promised $425 million to Sri Lankans in an opportunistic photo-op. The money hasn't reached Sri Lankans, who continue to suffer to this day.

There's a damning video taken at that photo-op which was, as far as I'm aware, never broadcast by the MSM. The CFP provides this video. It might be necessary to download some free DivX software (DivX is a popular digital format these days, available on some newer DVD players and the software download was safe and free of viruses, etc. for my PC) to enable your PC to show the video. This video shows Paul Martin in a very different light than the one in which we see him in the MSM. There's physical intimidation of the Canadian press representatives by Martin's RCMP bodyguards, apparently to prevent the taking of photographs and the asking of questions. And that's just one example of the appalling behavior of Martin and the RCMP. If only more people could know what kind of man Paul Martin really is... I recommend this video to all. It's an eye-opener, I found. Many people, I believe, will have a different opinion of Paul Martin once they view this video.

Important to note: over $40 million of this $425 million was donated by Canadians voluntarily out of their own pockets.

I don't understand why this is not "news".....MSM News that is?

The name Maurice Strong once again arises. There's an explanation of the significance of Maurice Strong here.

CFP states:

The Canadian $425-million was to have been administered by CIDA (Canadian International Development Agency). Canadian Maurice Strong, an advisor to both UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and Prime Minister Paul Martin is the founder of CIDA.

With the whitewash of the UN Oil-for-Food scandal ongoing, should anyone be surprised that a two-month investigation by the Financial Times has also found that several UN agencies are still refusing to disclose details of their relief expenditure–in spite of earlier pledges of transparency by senior UN officials?

Award-winning Canadian documentary journalist Garth Pritchard has been asking questions for a long time now about whatever happened to the money.

Pritchard, in Sri Lanka at the invitation of DART, says Canadian soldiers watched in disbelief as white SUVs roared up and down the coastal highway with the UN flag and the UN logo in black letters on the doors.

"They were showing their UN presence, but they never stopped. In the end, the local people formed human barricades to stop these vehicles. They were worried that the SUVs were traveling at such a high speed, they posed a danger to children."

One year later, many tsunami victims are still exposed to the elements scrounging for food. " Billions of dollars are out there somewhere, but the people are still with nothing," Pritchard says.

"It seems that the meager food that they had been allotted was to be cut off in December. One man states the obvious: `I live in a tent. I scrounge every day. My family is dead. I can’t say that I’ll be in a house soon, because they keep saying they’re going
to build some housing for us. But they haven’t started yet. And really, we don’t know if they will.’"

Well, Paul Martin? Well, United Nations? Where's all the money the people have given to help those in need? Did you people take it to enrich yourselves?

Has a massive crime been committed?

Paul Martin has something big, big, big to answer for here.
