Hapless Lib Leader Dion Facing 'Revolt' In Quebec Wing

Liberal "leader" Stephane Dion: Facing the consequences of poor leadership

OTTAWA — Senior federal Liberals are publicly questioning the party's lack of election readiness in Quebec, placing the blame on Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion and his key organizers in the province.

Mr. Dion will face the criticism head-on at the end of the week when he spends two days in Montreal.

Steven Pinkus, the party's vice-president for Quebec's anglophone community, went public on the weekend in the Quebec media with recriminations against the Liberals' recruiting, fundraising and communication efforts.

“The party is hurting itself if no one is willing to step up to the plate to put together an organization strategy,” he said in an interview Monday.

Oooh. The infighting, dissent and sniping within the Liberal ranks is very troubling. For the Liberals and their "leader", anyway, that is. Do read the whole thing, as it gets nastier. And see another reason why the Liberals don't want to do anything that risks their facing the voters in a real electoral contest. Too risky to do that anytime soon, no matter what, obviously. So expect them to slam the government verbally and then turn around and effectively rubber-stamp whatever they have to in order to avoid facing the Canadian People as to whether the Liberals themselves are worthy.

It would appear to the casual, detached observer that this political party is suffering the throes of slow collapse.
