Blah, blah, blah, went Barry-O, ever so brainlessly, just parroting whatever the Guy Behind the Curtain told him to say. Little did he realize what he was talking about.
He lauded the victims as ‘part of a long line of patriots who have made great sacrifices for their fellow citizens and for our way of life’.
Yet the previous day he had blasted ‘systemic failures’ in the CIA and other U.S. intelligence agencies for failing to prevent the Christmas Day syringe bomb attack.
This pissed off the CIA, which has already been attacked previously by the Obamacrat Reich, which, I believe, views the agency as pawns to be used and abused for political reasons.
‘One day the President is pointing the finger and blaming the intelligence services, saying there is a systemic failure,’ said one agency official. ‘Now we are heroes. The fact is that we are doing everything humanly possible to stay on top of the security situation. The deaths of our operatives shows just how involved we are on the ground.’Nice going, Mr. Perfect and Wonderful. Wrongly blaming the CIA for the failure of the National Counterterrorism Center, to whom the warning was sent by the CIA, and who were responsible for doing their job, which they apparently didn't.
(...) CIA officials say the data was sent to the US National Counterterrorism Centre in Washington, which was set up after the 9/11 attacks as a clearing house where raw data should be analysed.
I'd say there's also a failure on the part of the Obamacrat Reich to do their job and make sure the NCTC does its own. Apparently they didn't bother to do this. Fault: Obamacrat Reich. Another fail.
Or perhaps they did, and provided the intel to Obama. And perhaps Obama himself did nothing. Who knows?

Here is the transcript of Obama’s statement:

The CIA isn’t mentioned. He uses the less specific “intelligence community.” Why some CIA official has his panties in a knot over this bland statement suggests an abnormal level of sensitivity in the upper reaches of the agency.
Lots of terrorists cannot be caught. This latest moron should have been. When a guy with as many red-flags as the crotch-bomber boards a plane then there has been a systemic failure. The American intel community screwed the pooch on this one. If it hurts the CIA man’s feelings to say that, so be it. If Obama’s administration added to this screw-up, people in the administration should be fired

Well, then Obama's not so smart.
He said "intelligence community".
Which agency is biggest, most prominent, and which agency do most people automatically think of first when "intelligence community" is mentioned?
The CIA. Obviously.
Obama has zero tact, as we've seen from his many insults against many different groups of Americans, including the majority of Americans, ie. those Americans who dissent from his overall policy agenda. One need only look at various polling results to see that they're the majority... and he slurred them, at least privately, as "teabaggers" and "extremists". What a douchebag.
He's a douchebag. Whether he intended to smear the CIA or not, he's guilty of negligence in his careless tactlessness. And negligence is one of the key traits of Leftists, as they've got it to an above-average degree. They don't care about anyone's feelings, except, of course, for the feelings of GLBTs and Muslims and perhaps a few other groups they're supposed to kneel before, according to the dictates of their ideology at any given moment. Obiously the feelings of those who dissent from their leaders' policies aren't to be respected, but rather to be hurt whenever they've got the opportunity to do so. Yep. Leftists are discriminative as to whose feelings they'll respect and whose they won't. Which makes it annoying when they tell non-Leftists to avoid "offending" the feelings of certain special groups via any kind of criticism, even constructive, fact-based criticism.
Such conduct... unbecoming a president.
Then again, there's doubt on the minds of millions of Americans that he's even the president, vis-a-vis the Constitution and its eligibility requirements.
The CIA is not the biggest intelligence agency in the intelligence community. The NSA is larger, and has been for many years. I’m not sure if another agency is larger than the NSA, but one of your points regarding the intelligence community is factually incorrect.
As for prominence, I’ll agree that the CIA is the most prominent when it comes to foreign intel. This is beside the point. If Obama wanted to single them out, he could have. He didn’t. There was no direct insult to the CIA in Obama’s statement. The guy quoted in the article just has extremely thin skin.
