In his statement, Spielberg said Sudan's Government shouldered the bulk of responsibility for "these ongoing crimes" in Darfur and said China "should be doing more to end the continuing human suffering there."
China is one of Sudan's major purchasers of oil, among the various ties between the two countries.
Mr. Spielberg sets the bar higher: Now, if one wants to be able to claim to be a champion of human rights, one must stop doing business with China. And demand unequivocally that the Communists cease and desist with all human rights abuses and atrocities and stop facilitating human rights abuses and atrocities in other nations.
And I'm afraid the Left isn't loud enough, not commiting enough violent demonstrations, such as burning Chinese flags and effigies of Chinese Communist leaders. They do it with the free, democratic, rule-of-law-based, human-rights-respecting America and Israel, but pretty much leave alone the truly evil regimes of the world. The mainstream media is also too quiet on the real enemies of humanity, choosing to significantly tone down its reporting on negativities respecting the non-Free World and even covering up, refusing to report on, many instances of evildoing altogether.
Yes, the Free World's governments are also not doing nearly enough to help pressure the non-Free World to stop its evil ways, continuing to do business and maintain diplomatic ties with them. This won't work; it's only getting worse, and the evildoers are being rewarded with further business and further appeasement.
And that's easy to do when the screamy Left and the powerful MSM refuse to care much, if at all.
Our governments must be pushed. We conservative folks who care, by ourselves, cannot make this change fast enough, no matter how hard we try. We need the cooperation of the Left and the MSM, or else we'll have to do something to take away their power and wield it ourselves, just as they did to us long ago in order to wield the power they today enjoy to get their way, which has become little other than evil. Marginalize the Left and take control of the MSM by infiltration and wresting the levers of power from the corrupt, evil-appeasing, greedy Leftwing extremists who currently effectively control reporting, broadcasting, etc.
Then it'll be far easier to influence our governments to do the right thing, for they're too afraid to offend not only the Chinese Communists, but also the screamy, insane, hysterical, unstoppable Far-Left nuts and the corrupt, evil-supporting MSM, both of whom, when angry or motivated enough from not getting enough of what their selfish, greedy desires demand, will do everything in their power to ensure that incumbent governments are defeated in their next elections.
Influential, respected celebrities such as Steven Spielberg, in taking such public action to sting the Communists, will help inspire more and more folks to do the same in whatever way they may. The snowball must gather mass and momentum in the entire Free World as well as within China and amongst Chinese people worldwide.
It would also help to have a new Ronald Reagan in power somewhere, like in America (unfortunately, it doesn't appear that's going to happen in the next US election, should McCain, rather than Huckabee, be the nominee for the Republicans, the party of Ronald Reagan, whose strong stance against the USSR caused its collapse... if it's still possible for Huckabee to win the nomination, I urge Americans to elect him, particularly in light of news that McCain has been receiving funding from ultra-far-Leftwing extremist affector George Soros and from also-extremely-Leftist Theresa Heinz Kerry, meaning that, effectively, whether a Democrat or McCain became President, the Far Left would control him via strings and a hand up his keister, I'm afraid to say).
