OTTAWA -- Federal bureaucrats questioned whether Canada could meet its Kyoto Accord commitments even before the Conservatives took power, according to a ministerial briefing obtained by Sun Media.
The paper copy of a power-point presentation assembled for incoming Natural Resources Minister Gary Lunn specifically addresses whether Canada's commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions below 1990 levels during the next four years and when Canada can pull out of the accord.
One page raises the question, "Whether/when to acknowledge Canada will be very unlikely to meet target?"
Now, here's something that will make rational, intelligent people smile:
It goes on to state the government "Cannot formally 'de-ratify' (Kyoto) until 2009."
Clearly the Liberals knew the whole thing was a scam and only ratified the document, without any intention whatsoever to do anything to adhere to it (they did absolutely nothing, we, and they, know very well) for cynical, Machiavellian electoral calculation purposes, that is, to fool Canadians into thinking that they were doing something really good, which couldn't have been further from the truth.
We CAN de-ratify Kyoto "formally" in 2009. We're not screwed after all! This we must do, else we'll be held for ransom by foreign political entities for refusing to sacrifice our economy for the lying left (and Al Gore, who was recently caught flying a private jet) while China and other countries get to pollute as much as they wish.
Stephane Dion is going to have trouble answering questions about these explosive new revelations. Especially if he tries to respond to questions from English Canada where he's expected to be capable of communicating in the language of English Canadians with such mastery over the language as befits a real Prime Minister, which he clearly cannot ever be.
Already Dion has gone deep into denial mode, suggesting that bureaucrats were merely suddenly becoming political mouthpieces for the incoming Conservatives. Oh, really? Then he's accusing the civil service of being submissive to whatever political party wins an election, despite the supposition that the civil service is non-partisan and only does their job. Oh, dear... now dainty little pantywaist Stephanie's done gone and stupidly a-shot hisself in both feet!
