Secret Document Indicates Justified Fears of Impending Massive Jihad Attack in US

This Summer.

A secret U.S. law enforcement report, prepared for the Department of Homeland Security, warns that al Qaeda is planning a terror "spectacular" this summer, according to a senior official with access to the document.

"This is reminiscent of the warnings and intelligence we were getting in the summer of 2001," the official told ABCNews.com.

U.S. officials have kept the information secret, and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said today on ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" that the United States did not have "have any specific credible evidence that there's an attack focused on the United States at this point."

Note that I've been watching this "secrecy", which isn't just about keeping things secret, but also about denying things so as to avoid creating public panic, which I now admit is reasonable, but only as long as our security intelligence and law enforcement authorities are doing everything in their power to detect and prevent impending jihad.

As ABCNews.com reported, U.S. law enforcement officials received intelligence reports two weeks ago warning of terror attacks in Glasgow and Prague, the Czech Republic, against "airport infrastructure and aircraft."

Well, the Glasgow one did happen. Sort of, but still, despite all the foiled plots and screwed-up personal jihad attempts (for some bizarre reason often attempted by jihadists driving Jeeps!), one of these days, unfortunately, the enemy will escape detection (probably helped by the reluctance of one authority or another to do anything for fear of being accused of "racial profiling") and carry out a huge plot successfully...

Let's hope not. Let's hope it doesn't happen and that it doesn't take that to wake up millions more who remain apathetic or in denial as to the reality of the imminent dangers from our enemies.

Kudos to the ABC Blotter for trying harder than most of the rest of the MSM. Finally the MSM shows a small sign of getting the idea that if they continue the old fashioned way, they'll lose ground to non-MSM news & investigation outlets... and lowly bloggers.
