Rush Limbaugh
Rush Limbaugh makes the case against the 'Drive-By Media', convincingly arguing that it's not talk radio that needs to be bullied into submission by the left, but rather the DBM (also known as the mainstream media, or MSM).
"Liberals in the Senate have it half right when they talk about the lack of balance and the lack of honest reporting. They're dead right when they talk about that. It's just they're wrong about where all these things are happening," Limbaugh said today on his national program. "Let's regulate the Drive-By Media. Let's have a Truth Doctrine for them."
(...)
(...)unregulated, left-wing propaganda repeated hour after hour, day after day, week after week by the unregulated Drive-By Media, the unregulated liberal newspapers, the unfettered liberal newspapers. Free speech is the lifeblood of our nation, my good friends, and if we're going to do anything to modify it, let's look at where the problem really is. It ain't here on talk radio!"
I'm in agreement with Rush. No surprise in that, if you know me.
It's bizarre for anyone (meaning the Democratic politicians and the left in general) to suggest that independent talk radio is somehow "unfair" to America while at the same time we have the DBM/MSM, which we know to be controlled by the left (and also influenced by wealthy, powerful, anti-American extremist socialists like George Soros- see post below this one), screwing up the dissemination of "news" and "information" to suit the agenda of the left, which is to propagandize and brainwash the public into thinking that the way of the left is the right way to be and to do things.
It's not Rush Limbaugh's fault that leftists have been unable to build an audience on talk radio. Why have leftist talk radio when there's already the leftist Drive-By Media? It's redundant: leftists would simply be hearing the same bullshit over and over again by going back and forth between the DBM and leftist talk radio. I'd say that conservative talk radio actually provides fairness to the public discourse by providing alternative viewpoints as compared to the DBM, which itself is full of much spin and opinion masquerading as "news analysis", etc., and that to suggest otherwise, like the leftists do, is blatantly false! The leftists are jealous. They seek to control what the public will hear and perceive, in line with their political/ideological extremist agenda!
The Democrats and the left in general don't want "fairness". "Fairness" is just another sugarcoating word for something sinister and dangerous. In reality, under a "Fairness Doctrine", the state apparatus would actually control what can and cannot be said, and how much and how often anything can be said. Much like it is in Islamofascist Iran, Red Communist China and Vlad Putin's Corrupt Russia. No wonder the left wants this: they seek to control the means by which the people come about information/by which the people are manipulated by the state apparatus. They seek to control/restrict and bureaucratically direct/coordinate freedom of expression arbitrarily/artificially. They don't want political/ideological opponents like Rush Limbaugh to have a voice, so they find a way, sugarcoated with ironic codewords such as "fairness", to effectively reduce their freedom of expression... and the peoples' right to hear whatever they want.
The "Fairness Doctrine" is not fair. It's Big Brother. It's state control. It's about the left controlling what we can find out and publicly discuss about things. This is how leftists gain and maintain power. By silencing those they deem "inconvenient". In the non-Free World, they murder such folks, whereas in America they seek to silence them via something ironically dubbed by themselves as the "Fairness Doctrine".
How far will the left go in America in the long run? Will they start poisoning reporters they find "inconvenient" to their agenda? Why not? That's how it works in Russia, and the left likes Russia. Don't forget that Hitler also sought to control public "information" and "discussion". This is what the left seeks to do.
Moi? "Over the top"? So is the left and so is the Drive-By Media!
