Michelle refers to The Daily Oklahoman's reporting on the case, which apparently is not closed; not at all.
Excerpts:
A Norman police bomb expert said Tuesday he does not believe University of Oklahoma student Joel Henry Hinrichs III committed suicide by blowing himself up
outside a packed football stadium.
"I believe he accidentally blew himself up," Sgt. George Mauldin said.
(...)
Hinrichs was sitting on a park bench 173 yards from the OU stadium during the second quarter of OU's night game against Kansas State when the TATP inside
his backpack detonated.""Someone saw him fiddling with it (the backpack) shortly before the explosion occurred. I think he got cocky, and it went off," Mauldin said.
Well, read the rest of Michelle's post.
Blasts from the past (sorry for the pun) from my own archives:

The case is very definitely not closed.
Doesn't the denial of terrorism remind one of the current investigation being conducted into Jamaat ul Fuqra? Just listen to the broken-record protestations of the men in charge of the JuF camps! Rather Clintonesque... "I did not have...", "...definition of "is" is"... Yep; heard it all before. Yes, the cigar was a cigar, but... we know what he did with the cigar, for we're not stupid enough to believe it was smoked...
Similarly, the denials of terrorism on the part of Hinrichs came way too quickly. The facts shatter the credibility of all the deniers.
The people must know about these very important things.
