Obama, Health Care and Poor People: Elitism, Discrimination?

Story here. ht: Drudge Report

(Emphasis mine)

Sen. Barack Obama's wife and three close advisers have been involved with a program at the University of Chicago Medical Center that steers patients who don't have private insurance -- primarily poor, black people -- to other health care facilities.

Michelle Obama -- currently on unpaid leave from her $317,000-a-year job as a vice president of the prestigious hospital -- helped create the program, which aims to find neighborhood doctors for low-income people who were flooding the emergency room for basic treatment. Hospital officials say such patients hinder their ability to focus on more critically ill patients in need of specialized care, such as cancer treatment and organ transplants.

Obama's top political strategist, David Axelrod, co-owns the firm, ASK Public Strategies, that was hired by the hospital last year to sell the program -- called the Urban Health Initiative -- to the community as a better alternative for poor patients. Obama's wife and Valerie Jarrett, an Obama friend and adviser who chairs the medical center's board, backed the Axelrod firm's hiring, hospital officials said.

Another Obama adviser and close friend, Dr. Eric Whitaker, took over the Urban Health Initiative when he was hired at U. of C. in October 2007. Whitaker previously had been director of the Illinois Department of Public Health. Obama has said he recommended Whitaker for the state job, giving his name to Tony Rezko, who helped Gov. Blagojevich assemble his Cabinet. Rezko, a former fund-raiser for Obama and Blagojevich, was convicted in June on federal corruption charges tied to state deals.

Lots of very rich people (Over three hundred grand a year, Mrs. Obama makes! Holy shee-it!) discriminating against the poor in health care. Lots of interesting connections, also, including with a convicted criminal...

Sen. John McCain, Obama's Republican opponent, criticized the Democratic presidential hopeful Friday for having pledged on the campaign trail to expand health care for Americans at the same time his top political strategist "was running a campaign to cut coverage for the poor."

Change you can believe in? Well, what kind of change? The kind that favors the rich over the poor, Mr. Elitist Obama? Why should we believe you, when you say one thing but are just fine with having the opposite happen?

It's about money, profits. I suppose Mr. Obama will tell us he's unaware of how the poor are being discriminated against in health care, and that it's not his fault, even though his own wife is discriminating against the poor? What, does this mean that he really could care less whilst his own wife, a rich woman herself, has the poor loaded onto a shuttle and taken to cheap little clinics rather than treat them as they treat the rich?

Bah! Obama will tell Americans whatever he thinks they want to hear, in an attempt to fool them into voting for him. But it doesn't mean that he really means it; doesn't mean that what he says he'll do as President, he'd do at all.

I mean, isn't what Mrs. Obama is doing... Leftists find terrible, horrible? Discriminating against the poor, who don't have insurance, in health care?

What is Obama's hidden agenda? Is he really only about money, money, money, after all? As President, would he do things only because it profits him, his wife and cronies, just like the Clintons?

Why doesn't he openly admit already that socialized healthcare is unworkable in the long run, and would prove to be staggeringly expensive while actually making health care worse for everyone, regardless of whether they're rich or poor? Like it has happened in Canada, where people are now suffering and dying in the name of equity and the distribution of income, the great and terrible dogmatic ideology of socialism!

Admit it, Mr. Obama; a balanced system with some functional, unfortunately necessary "discrimination" (such an ugly word; we'll need to come up with a euphemism, like the Left is always doing so as to make it look as if they're doing something nice when they're actually doing something ugly) is, unfortunately, the best way to go, and Leftists know and accept this, though they'll never publicly admit it. After all, there's already plenty of acceptable, legal discrimination against the poor and against all kinds of folks, because it's functional and for the best, and it's clear that you, Mr. Obama, as well as most elitist, wealthy, two-faced Leftists, understand this, because you signed off on it, as has your wife! We discriminate on the basis of age in such things as insurance, driving, drinking, etc... because it's realistic and allows things to work out best that way.

Discrimination on the basis of how much money we have is already a reality in so many things, after all. If we were to abolish this discrimination, we'd be communists, and we know how things "work out" under communism... it's worse that way for everyone. Everyone, that is, except the elitist authorities, who get to ride in fancy limousines and live in very nice, comfortable dachas and who govern over the people (like the elitist Barack Obama would govern over the people).

So if the Left, as exemplified by the Leftist Obama, demonstrates in practice the opposite of what they say as politicians and social activists, one must necessarily ask: Are they just saying what they're saying to make themselves look dishonestly better, nicer, more "progressive" than their "right-wing" opponents? Is it that, after they're elected, they will NOT do what they suggested they'd do; they just said what they said about health care so they'd get more votes by promising changes that they never intended to deliver?
