Bush Blasts Russia, Warns To 'Reverse The Course'

Vladimir Putin, dictator of Russia, invader of Georgia, the man who has restarted the Cold War, perhaps started a new World War, and some of the company he keeps.

Restarted the Cold War? Am I nuts?

Nope. This is how I'm calling it. So far I haven't seen anyone else say this, but here I am saying it. I see Russian imperialism here and I see a determination reminiscent of not only the likes of Lenin/Stalin, but also of Hitler, Mao, the Islamic imperialists throughout history... What Russia is doing right now is uncalled for and indubitably hostile, imperialistic. Russia's goal is the annexation of territory that doesn't belong to it. Of course, Russia also sees human life as expendable with a view to Russia's convenience.

Debka File report/expert analysis here.

Full-scale invasion by Russia

Bush's warning to Russia

"Russia has invaded a sovereign neighboring state and threatened a government elected by its people," Bush said. "Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century."

Bush continued, "Russia's government must respect Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Russia's government must reverse the course that it appears to be on as a first step toward resolving this conflict. Russia's actions this week have raised serious questions about its intentions in Georgia and the region."

Unfortunately, President Bush has fallen for the seductive siren song of the international appeasement Left and has chosen the wimpy path of "diplomacy", which really means de-facto appeasement.

Or am I wrong? Will Bush come to his senses? Or will he continue to demonstrate that he just might have been infected with the same kind of mental disorder as was Neville Chamberlain?

Will Bush decide for himself the right course of action, or will he allow some "secret societies" to tell him what to do/not do? Actually, he has an option, a choice. Hopefully he'll keep in mind that the wrong course of action, if repeated, will get him written off in the history books as just another Chamberlain, notwithstanding the removal of Saddam and the Taliban. Appeasement at this point in time will cancel those out.

Why keep on pushing for "diplomacy" when it's clear that it's of no value? Look at Iran. Diplomacy is useless with them. Now look at Russia, who has for years preached the value of diplomacy and multilateralism but is now proving that it was nothing but hot air by doing the opposite and just taking what it wants by force. Simply because it wants.

It's clear that the diplomatic nonsense of "peace in our time" will only hurt the cause of freedom, democracy and the rule of law if it's to be pursued no matter what. We know what happened last time a fool leader tried to claim that his diplomatic efforts had achieved "peace in our time". Let's not go there again.

In addition to the Cold War having been restarted by Russia's aggressive actions and its arrogance towards the Free World and everything the international community claimed for so long to believe in, has Russia potentially started a new World War?

I don't know; I'm not Nostradamus, nor do I claim to be like him.

But the question does need to be asked, as the world situation today bears a striking resemblance to a time period preceding World War Two, in which we saw the Olympics being held in a murderous tyranny. There's a Holocaust against an "inconvenient" minority group happening in the nation where the Olympics are presently being held, just like last time around, currently (mostly, but not entirely) out of sight of the world. And a member of the Axis is invading and occupying by deadly, destructive force, a sovereign nation with the apparent goal of territorial annexation.

History taught us a lesson. I'm afraid we may be repeating it, having failed to pass the course.
