It is pie in the sky fantasy. BP is based in the United Kingdom, and is one the UK's largest companies, tied in to many pensions funds and UK investments. Seizing it would be a disaster for US/UK relations and would cost billions.
Fantasy or not, however, it is not communism. Nationalising one company is nationalising one company, nothing less, nothing more, and the US already has nationalised companies. Thus, if we are to accept the premise that this one action would mean the US becoming communist, one must accept that the US is already communist, and has been for a very long time.
