Karzai Thanks Canada for Sacrifices

Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Ottawa

Story here.
"(Canada's support) means a lot to us," Karzai told a slightly bemused woman. "For the taxpayers' money that you send, for the soldiers that you send, your sons and daughters - they help us immensely."
"Merci mille fois," he added, using the French expression for "thank you, a thousand times."
(...)
Several thousand people rallied on Parliament Hill on Friday, shortly after Karzai addressed the House of Commons, to show their support for the 2,300 Canadian soldiers serving in Afghanistan.
But, on the other side: the left:
It was a somewhat different scene outside the downtown hotel where Karzai was staying. About 35 anti-war protesters staged a demonstration and at least one person was arrested.
Some of the demonstrators wore masks, one burned an American flag, and there was some pushing and shoving between police and protesters.
The Canadian leftists might've reminded President Karzai of the Taliban or supporters thereof. Oh, well, every country has its moonbats, after all...
But contrast the thousands who supported the troops with the 35 who made absolute fools of themselves... Masks? Flag-burning? Violence against police? In the street? In the city? In Canada? Par for the course for moonbats anywhere on the planet. A fact of life... and it's unfortunate that they, in the Free World, fail to appreciate that, unlike in the non-Free World, they don't get shot, hanged, tortured, raped or beheaded for speaking their minds in public, however messed-up they may be.
