FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- A confrontation between agents for the Department of Homeland Security and a man they were seeking sparked a high-speed chase through Fort Collins that ended Wednesday morning with two car crashes -- one involving their suspect and the other involving a Colorado State Patrol trooper.
Authorities say it began when agents from the Department of Homeland Security approached a man in downtown Fort Collins. A trooper told 7NEWS that the man tried to run over the federal agents when they confronted him.

At this time, it's not known why the man was being sought by the Department of Homeland Security. Four agencies, including the Larimer County Sheriff's Office and Fort Collins police were also involved in the pursuit.
