"Let me see what I can do. I'm going to work on it. I really want to be friends with you," he told her.Ellis told Kim he planned to deport her but had second thoughts."The initial one was no, but now that I know you, I'm not going to be able to sleep if I say no. I won't be able to sleep," he said.(...)In the 45-minute video, Ellis tells Kim she's as beautiful as a model, offers to find her work and suggests he can approve her application if she has an affair with him, though he warns her not to tell her boyfriend.
Geez... what's up with these liberal folks? See, another example of leftist delusion: the dude above actually thinks someone would actually fool around with him in exchange for the privilege of living in Canada.
No nation on earth is so wonderful as to be worth that!
Dude makes Billy Clintoon look like an adonis, for Heaven's sake...
Clinton, Foley, Ellis...
Ok, listen up, skeptical leftists: see, folks are appointed to the Immigration and Refugee Board simply at the whim of the government. And the one who appointed this dude would be the Liberal government. Therefore, he's gotta be a Liberal. No way would the Liberals appoint a conservative, someone who takes immigration issues seriously, to a post they wanted to be of a nature wherein they'd have folks who owe them for the appointment doing their left-wing nonsense bidding and letting in just whomever the Liberals prefer, regardless of real qualification.
The G&M says (emphais mine):
Mr. Ellis was appointed to the IRB in 2000 by the federal Liberal government. He was described last night by one Toronto immigration lawyer as "fairly popular" and someone liked by most of the lawyers who argued before him.
Further, there is reason to believe he might not be all that, you know, "together in the head":
He was remembered for his fights and his antics. He opposed smoking restrictions, island airport expansion plans and bicycle lanes on College Street. On one memorable occasion he had to be dragged out of Metro Hall after lying on the carpet in an apparent protest against the proposed market-value assessment.
Hmm... a pro-smoking activist... bizarre, in my opinion. Favoring something that we know to be so unhealthy as to cause cancer and death.
Now we see he has tried to solicit sexual favors in exchange for letting a woman immigrate.
Nice choice, Liberal Party of Canada. Did you check out this guy carefully? What are his qualifications? Oh, wait... I see... he must've been a Liberal loyalist. As usual. No way would this nutcase be a Conservative.
Yep, obviously an excellent choice for an IRB official. Perfectly sane, perfectly well-behaved. Perfectly Liberal?
Yep. Liberal appointees are the very best of the very best!
