Looks like Canada will be rebuilding the debt after having paid it down by over a hundred billion bucks.
Whose fault?
Not the Harper Conservatives.
They never had any plans for a deficit-financed "stimulus" plan to copy that of the rest of the panicky world.
Until the Hard-Left Opposition, the Liberals, NDP and separatist Bloc forced their hand. It was either rebuild the debt under Conservative principles and under a Conservative government to minimize the negative impact from debt rebuilding... or have the Hard Left usurp the government against the wishes of the People and proceed to build the debt far, far, faaaaarrrrr more than would the Conservatives, plus impose and force Hard-Left revolutionary transformations, particularly radically extreme social-reengineering crap, onto Canada.
The choice was clear, still. Prudent conservatism or Hard-Left destructive transformation.
The lesser of two debt-rebuilding "evils" was the obvious choice.
Blame the Hard-Left "Coalition" of the Liberals, NDP and separatist Bloc for the massive new deficit financing which probably isn't needed and probably won't have much stimulus effect, unless, of course, it's done smartly (and this is more likely under a Harper Conservative government than a Three Hard-Left Stooges dictatorship).
