Update On CS and GG

Due to a surprise discovery re immigration sponsorship and the timing of approval of application, we've decided to postpone the wedding until Gabriella would be allowed to work in Canada.  This, being able to work, is very important to her, so we agreed to wait until everything, ie. red tape, etc., is cleared.

That said, Canadian Sentinel and Gabriella Grizzly of USA continue to be engaged.

AND engaged in the fight against so-called "Progressive" tyranny and oppression, and in fighting for freedom, democracy and the rule of law for all.

So did Gabriella actually move to Canada?

@Sentinel:
Just curious about the ins and outs of getting a Canadian work visa, what is the obstacle in her case? I would have thought that if she got married ASAP to you, that would speed the process.

OK... back from taking GG to an airport 90 mins away (way cheaper to fly to that airport than to the local one, yeah, weird, but so...).

She's on last leg of the return home.

Holy moly... I'm suffering from Gaby Grizzly withdrawal biiiiig time! The love of my life... here and then gone until we figure out the next scheme for getting together for good... lemme tellya, even the Sentinel gets emotional, yuppers...

Ok, no, unfortunately, she didn't move to Canada at this time. Funny thing about immigration red tape: You might think you know what's involved, but then you find out from the Customs/Immigration guy at International Arrivals that it actually takes waaaay longer for a spousal sponsorship application to come through. So we decided to postpone the legal marriage thingy (that's what it really was, just going to court and making it "legal"). So I'll be filing a different kind of "family-class" sponsorship application... interestingly, "conjugal" means "family"... must be a Liberal invention... oh, well, at least Liberals were good for ONE thing... LOL

As we now know that it takes more like at least a year and have heard even worse stories about in-same-shoes people waiting even longer than that... and as one has to officially become a sponsored immigrant/permanent resident to be allowed to work, and as GG is the kinda gal who absolutely must work rather than sit and do nothing for what, a year, two years, what... Well, you see the picture.

One would think, CG, that according to "conventional wisdom", yes, being married would speed the process, but, hahahaha- notta! Shit, friggin' red-tape bureaucratic bullshit... why don't they just outsource the tens of thousands of backlogged files to a private contractor who will actually do the damn job in a timely manner, much faster than friggin' unionized mandarins?

Maybe it'll be easier for me to immigrate to America? Hmm... Could hold my nose about the Obamacracy, sure...

Could move to Ottawa and cut the commute to her neck of the woods in half, making the wait easier... OK, time to scheme and plot... LOL

Hope it works out soon.

Well, that truly sucks.

Canadian Sentinel said...

Thank you, Mike.

Oh, yes it sucks, re the red tape stuff and waiting time... but now we know what lots of other folks have/are going through...

Nevertheless, we will make it happen, being together for good...

Still, it's nice to finally have a real raison d'etre beyond blogging... :)

Sentinel, did you remove my post about Corsi falsely claiming that Donald Trump was still a birther, or did I post it incorrectly?

Good Evening All,
Alas,I am home in the states and right can not think of the next move. Im so tired from all the planes and people and I was sooo lucky to have my tickets...yes tickets(both) be the ones to have SSSS on top...meaning security check big time, why? Not sure.

So, once I got through the Canadian FIRST check, it wasnt until I was about to board that they saw the SSSS. My bags got drug tested, and I got the pat down..etc. Then I make it into Newark and again same thing. OHH,,yes, fun day!! On top of it all I had about 2 hours sleep. I was hot, sweaty and patience was running low. However,,at the end of that tunnel, the most fantastic thing happened. My grandson came running up to me, hugged me to tight with his little 4 year old arms and told me how much he missed me and how much he loves me everything I had gone through was now a memory.

So, see..theres always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Oh, before I forget. I want to truly thank ALL of you for your concerns.
Also, I know CS is in a place right now in his heart that makes me sad. He is strong though and we know we will make the right decisions for the future. We also will be praying on it. Thank you all for the friendships.
God bless, GG

Balbs, look, it says "deleted by author". If I deleted it, it wouldn't say that. It'd say "deleted by site owner" or similar.

Oh, by the way, Gaby had a great time as did I.

I am disappointed for both of you:.(

Onward and upward though. Chin up!

As you pour through the maze of stuff you are looking through immigration, emigration etc. You may find that a consultant is well worth the money. On either side. Getting a good one is even more helpful. Having spent some time in the restaurant business, I was constantly amazed by how the same beginnings had such radically different outcomes here in the U.S.
The right lawyer, who you know, who got paid, legal windows of opportunity, loopholes, different statuses (overlapping, lapsing), fake ID, real ID missing one of several names and presumed fake, real ID fake SSN on and on and on.

Yes.. as I think about it I've seen a lot. Do find a decent consultant/lawyer. Stuff processed through their offices always seems to fly better in the long run...IME

For my two cents... the U.S. F1 student visa is G O L D E N for those who want entry. Get married under an F1, work, go to school, two years and your in. Easiest way I know. Marraige and F1 status working together like time served.
;)

Oh... and of course, we'd be proud to have you CS.

Sincerely, all my best GG & CS
I'll send a note upstairs for you.

Keep the faith, I know how hard it is to go through all of this. I hope it goes quickly, always get more than one opinion on this stuff as well. Information from Canada is generally more accurate than stuff found at the embassies as well.
