ISLAM, THE TAXI DRIVER, AND MY SIX PACK

Interesting account of someone's experience with a Muslim taxi driver.

I believe this cabbie to be very smart. And I believe his actions towards me were a test. He wanted to see if I reacted to his imposition upon me of his Islamic beliefs. Had I done or said nothing, he would have confirmed in his mind that we can be pushed around.

Want Sharia Law in Australia? Then Get Out!

Story here.

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown.

Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular State and its laws were made by parliament.

"If those are not your values, if you want a country that has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you", he said on national television.

"Immigrants, not Australians must adapt. Take it or leave it. I am tired of this Nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.

So, we see, terrorism isn't in the interests of anyone at all, including Muslims. Neither is trying to impose their own ideological dogmas upon a secular nation. Them's the facts!

Being attacked by an identifiable group actually has the effect of stiffening the resolve by the victims to refuse the demands of that identifiable group who commits the acts of murder. It's just as if an individual commits violent acts in society; that individual will therefore be prevented from commiting any further violent acts. Why should violence by a group (in this context, Islamic fundamentalists who take the Koran's dictates of hatred and murder literally) be excused?

Note to leftists: your people often blame Israel and "the Jews" for the problems of others. So don't you dare accuse me of "singling out unfairly" the Islamic fundamentalists, for if you've your eyes open and are using your brain, you will see for yourselves that they are indeed responsible for pretty much all terror attacks these days.

Don't Feed the Alligators!

I'd like to recommend Let's Not Feed the Alligators! by my American friend, Gayle.

It's her take on the whole MidEast thing and everything to do with it. And I'm in agreement with her.

So go ahead and read it. Gayle really tells it like it is!

You go, girl!

Tories Boosting Cdn Sovereignty in Arctic

Story here. h/t: Bourque

...as promised and elected to do so.

And the Premier of Nunavut supports the initiative. Not only is it essential to Canada's sovereignty, it's also logistically necessary and will be economically beneficial to the North.

Why didn't the Liberals ever consider such a great idea? Too busy squirreling our money away in mysterious foundations, running boondoggles, adscamming, etc., etc...

See, day after day, we have examples of the benefits of a Conservative administration in Canada. As I said on January 24th, 2006, "It's morning in Canada!".

Let the Liebrano$$$ and leftists be the doubting Thomases they wanna. Let them scream and cry and slander. Canadians can see for themselves what's what and don't need those reds and pinks telling them what to believe.

Canada: the world's next superpower!

We'll Make Canada an Energy Superpower: Harper

Story here. h/t: Bourque

A very uplifting read. Read it!

Far better than the Liberals' pathetic "Team Canada" junkets to, for example, the totalitarian communist regime of China which ended up in Canadian companies investing in China (not Canada), employing Chinese for slave wages (if that) to produce omnipresent, dirt-cheap products. Sure, Canadian companies have profited from Chinese labor, but what of Canadian manufacturing jobs lost or not created? Go shopping... buy something. Most often, it'll have been made in China, not Canada. There you have it: the Liberal legacy: redirecting investment and jobs outside of Canada in exchange for dirt-cheap but variable-quality goods. Liberals: the party of profit-motive big business. Not the party of Canada and Canadians.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has been travelling abroad selling Canada's position in the world as an energy superpower/emerging energy superpower. He has urged international investors to look to Canada, with all its virtues, etc., for their energy investment dollars. He has pointed out that, unlike less-free and non-free nations, Canada's energy industry is and shall always be free-market-based, not politically-based, which is a massive advantage in terms of energy supply stability.

See, another excellent example of Stephen Harper doing his job... very well, mind y'all, as Prime Minister of Canada.

What was it again that the Liebrano$$$ said they did... "balance the books"? Ha! A monkey could've balanced the books in a time of global economic boom as we experienced during the Liberal years (no thanks to the tax-and-spend/red-tape, anti-productivity Liebrano$$$ with their infamous money-laundering schemes and whatnot...).

Just watch Harper. And watch Canada elevate ever higher over the world stage. Aren't you glad you voted Conservative?

The Enemy Within?

Above: video still from a clip captured via internet surveillance of jihadist communications
Story here.
Excerpts of statements made by the man in the video:
“We bring to you the good news of the formation of new movement – which is the army of Islam in the land of the deceitful… and planting the love of jihad in the hearts of Muslims in the land of infidels.”
“We call upon [unintelligible] Muslims who reside in the land of Infidels to join us and not to rely on the fact that the war is far away from their homelands…”
The Northeast Intelligence Network comments:
So what has actually been found here? That remains under extensive analysis. Considering the recently acute upsurge of violence in the Middle East and the increased rhetoric by Islamic terrorists against non-Muslims, we might be witnessing the advent of an armed movement within the U.S., Canada, the U.K., or other non-Muslim nation. One must not, however, dismiss the possibility of the armed enemy currently in our midst, an enemy feeling empowered by the actions of Islamic factions acting against Israel. Our investigation into this matter is continuing.

Syria Entering MidEast War

Story here.

...this on the heels of Iran's Ahmadinejad having declared the other day that any action by Israel against Syria would lead Iran to attack Israel.

Well, if Syria enters the war, then Israel has the right and responsibility to defend herself. What's Iran's rationale, therefore? They seem to hold that should Israel defend herself against Syria, she therefore must be attacked by Iran?

As for what Syria said to justify its entry into the war, it's pure bullshit! We who've been watching know it's been the Islamic World who started it all and quite a while ago, while the MSM barely uttered a word about the attacks by the jihadist Muslims against Israel.

See? The Islamic nations in question do want this war. It is, after all, the Islamic thing to do...

1st Iraqi Province's Security Transferred to Iraqi Security Forces

CENTCOM reports:

Transfer of Security Responsibility in Muthanna Province

A Joint Statement by Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad and Gen. George Casey

Embassy of United States of America Press Release

July 13, 2006

BAGHDAD – Iraq witnessed a historic event today with the transfer of security responsibility in Muthanna Province from the Multi-National Force - Iraq (MNF-I) to the Provincial Governor and civilian-controlled Iraqi Security Forces. The handover represents a milestone in the successful development of Iraq’s capability to govern and protect itself as a sovereign and democratic nation. Muthanna is the first of Iraq’s 18 provinces to be designated for such a transition.

As Prime Minister Maliki announced on June 19, 2006, the joint decision between the Iraqi government and MNF-I to hand over security responsibility is the result of Muthanna’s demonstrated abilities to take the lead in managing its own security and governance duties at the provincial level. The transition decision also reflects a joint assessment of the overall threat situation in Muthanna, the capabilities of the ISF there and the provincial leadership’s ability to coordinate security. Transition teams are in place to smooth the transfer process and multi-national forces will stand ready to provide assistance if needed.

With this first transition of security responsibility, Muthanna demonstrates the progress Iraq is making toward self-governance. Several other provinces are close to meeting the criteria necessary to assume security independence. The Iraqi government and the Multi-National Force will continue to transfer security responsibilities in other provinces in Iraq as conditions are achieved.

Australian, Japanese, and the United Kingdom forces have assisted Muthanna authorities as models of international cooperation, providing economic and humanitarian assistance as well as security and stability. As Iraq develops and its needs continue to evolve, so too will the nature of international assistance to Iraq in Muthanna and elsewhere.

The United States will provide $10 million in order to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Muthanna as they take a bold and courageous step forward in the country’s movement toward an independent and secure nation. This event represents significant progress by the Government of Iraq to achieve a constitutional, democratic, and pluralistic Iraq which guarantees the rights of all citizens.

They advised me of this via email. Although I've been busy at work all week, I don't recall seeing the MSM making much out of this very, very significant development.

This is significant in that Iraqi security is now beginning to be transferred back to Iraqis. No longer is Iraq going to have to worry about the tyranny of Saddam Hussein.

Anyone already know of this development? The first I heard was from CENTCOM themselves.

Does the MSM care enough to make a big deal? Or would they rather yell day after day about bad news or what they think is bad news?
