Yep; she quit the Liebrano$$$ and has joined Stephen Harper's Conservatives. She, a Jewish person and lifelong Liberal, no longer supports the Liberals.
Why? Because of the differing stances on Israel and the Middle East of the Liberals and the Conservatives.
And that's just the beginning. Her husband, Liberal Gerry Schwartz, also supports the Conservative government's position on the Middle East.
Like I said in a recent post, the time has come for Jewish people to leave the Liberal Party of Canada as the LPC doesn't seem to care much for Israel, seeing as it pretty much always had its rep to the UN vote to condemn Israel time after time after time, even when it's been clear that the Islamists were to blame, not Israel.
No one wants a government that bases the foreign policy of Canada on whatever the evil-states-manipulated/controlled UN says. Such would indicate a lack of national sovereignty as to foreign affairs policy, and the Liberal f.a. policies while in power were exceedingly leftist, Dhimmi and anti-Israel, as well as being anti-American, which makes today's Liberal accusations against the Harper Conservatives of being "in lockstep with America" suspect. They claim that just because we, like America, support Israel, it's only because America does... but that's utterly absurd, but is that any surprise? Absurdity is the Liberals' stock in trade. Remember the promise to scrap the Charter's "Notwithstanding Clause", blurted out by then-PM Martin? Remember Martin's contention that property rights would lead to "child labor"? And always remember that the Liberals never make the case for their policies; rather, they implement a campaign of demagoguic sloganeering to curry favor with overworked, easy-to-manipulate Canadians. Fortunately, this practice had a limited shelf life! Thank goodness the Liebrano$$$ are dead in the water and sinking...

Hezbollah Blamed For Kana Deaths: Lebanese Website
Story here. Yet more reason to believe Hezbollah itself created the so-called "massacre" in the village of Kana, Lebanon. Expect more to come to further indicate the deliberate, malicious culpability of the evil, barbaric Islamic jihadist group. (Knowing French will come in handy for that website).
The Lebanese website LIBANOSCOPIE , associated with Christian elements in the country and which openly supports the anti-Syrian movement called the "March 14 Forces," reported that Hizbullah has masterminded a plan that would result in the killing of innocents in the Qana village, in a bid to foil Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's "Seven Points Plan", which calls for deployment of the Lebanese army in southern Lebanon and the disarming of Hizbullah.

"We have it from a credible source that Hizbullah, alarmed by Siniora's plan, has concocted an incident that would help thwart the negotiations. Knowing full well that Israel will not hesitate to bombard civilian targets, Hizbullah gunmen placed a rocket launcher on the roof in Qana and brought disabled children inside, in a bid to provoke a response by the Israeli Air Force. In this way, they were planning to take advantage of the death of innocents and curtail the negotiation initiative," the site stated.
The site's editors also claimed that not only did Hizbullah stage the event, but that it also chose Qana for a specific reason: "They used Qana because the village had already turned into a symbol for massacring innocent civilians, and so they set up 'Qana 2'." Notably, the incident has indeed been dubbed "The second Qana massacre" by the Arab media.

The central piece of evidence leading to this conclusion is the fact, mentioned by IDF officials from the very beginning, that the building collapsed a full seven hours after the Israel Air Force bombing. Why, then, would the residents inside not have been evacuated in the meantime? As Brig.-Gen. Amir Eshel of the Israeli Air Force told reporters Sunday night, “It is difficult for me to believe that they waited eight hours to evacuate it.” Without additional evidence, Eshel merely left open the possibility that Hizbullah terrorists, or explosives they left behind, caused the explosion.
"Indeed," writes Robert Spencer for FrontPageMagazine, "it strains credulity that not only did these Lebanese civilians remain in a house that had been bombed for eight hours, but peacefully went to sleep in it after the bombing – since the victims were all apparently sleeping, despite continuing Israeli air bombardment in the area, when the building collapsed."
Gen. Eshel also said that the building was used by Hizbullah to store explosives. This was supported by a letter by Dr. Mounir Herzallah, a southern Lebanese Shiite, who wrote that Hizbullah terrorists came to his town, dug a munitions depot and then built a school and a residence directly over it.
In addition, as Reuven Koret writes for IsraelInsider, the bombing of the area occurred in three waves. The first bombs, according to CNN correspondent Brent Sadler, did not hit the building in question, but rather landed "20 or 30 meters" away. The second strike hit targets further away, and the third strike, around 7:30 in the morning, landed over 400 meters away. The first reports of a collapsed building arrived a half-hour later.
Another CNN correspondent, Ben Wedeman, noted that there was a larger crater next to the building. He observed that the roof of the building was intact and that the building appeared not to have collapsed as a result of the Israeli strike.

The motion to which I refer and which you spearheaded, prevented Mr. Elias Bejjani, chairman of the Canadian Lebanese Coordinating Council (LCCC) and the Canadian Lebanese Human Right Federation (CLHRF), from speaking during the Committee's Hearing Session on the government's Middle East policy and the evacuation of Canadians from Lebanon. Mr. Bejjani represents the interests and viewpoints of thousands of Lebanese-Canadians and his input at this hearing would have been informative to committee members. As Mr. Bejjani was accepted as a speaker by the Clerk of the Committee, I would like an explanation as to why he and others of similar viewpoints were prevented from delivering testimony. I look forward to your response.

Is the leftist Opposition of Canada afraid that Lebanese Canadians might support the decision of the Conservative government to support Israel's inalienable right to engage in war to defend herself against the Hezbollah monsters?
Doesn't the leftist Opposition believe in freedom of expression and equality? Or will the leftist Opposition stop at nothing to hurt Israel and hurt the government of Canada, no matter what they must do?

The session was initiated by the Opposition parties to challenge the Conservative government’s Middle East policy and the evacuation of Canadians from Lebanon. Several groups and individuals applied to be witnesses and were accepted by the Clerk of the Committee. These witnesses traveled to Ottawa from across the country, but were unjustly prevented from delivering their statements. Among them was Mr. Elias Bejjani, LCCC Chairman and the Canadian Lebanese Human Right Federation (CLHRF) Spokesman, (a member in the LCCC coalition). Guess what? The testimony actually THANKS THE GOVERNMENT FOR WHAT THEY'VE DONE FOR LEBANESE CANADIANS. The leftist opposition prevented this perfectly acceptable testimony from being given for purely partisan political reasons. Hurting the government is clearly more important to them than doing their real jobs. Here's an excerpt from the testimony:

How dare they... exclude athletes from competing... just because they're straight? Not that any self-respecting straight athlete would take this silly event seriously. After all, if everyone gets a medal, why bother? Real athletes are about competing to see who's the best, period. Not to show that they're the silliest idiot of all who can swim, run or jump... who, by the way, happens to have sex with members of their own gender...

The qualification standards for the Outgames can be summarized in one word: Gay. Or, if you prefer, "fabulous" -- which is why there are nearly 400 fabulous swimmers competing in the 100-metre freestyle event alone. Disneyland rides have tougher admission standards.

I have nothing against gay people, but this event raises a lot of questions. For instance, the Outgames website warns that an athlete can be drug-tested at any time, but everyone gets a medal. Wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose of the drugs?

What To Call A "Moderate" Moonbat (If There Are Any)
What do we call folks who, although prone to the occassional fit of insane, foaming-at-the-mouth moonbattery, are otherwise normal folks with (usually) realistic, rational views on stuff?

Might I humbly suggest we call them "fartweasels"?
I like the term "fartweasel" as, just as we all occassionally fart, some folks can occassionally be a weasel. Understand? Hence we have the term "fartweasels"!
We all personally know many such folks. They can be family, friends, coworkers, the bus driver, the plumber, the guy who mows your lawn, the cashier at the supermarket, your insurance agent or bank representative, your professor, the little old lady walking the twin chihuahuas... maybe YOU are one (a fartweasel, not a chihuahua)... these folks are everywhere.
But though they demonstrate occassional intellectual deficiencies, they still don't fall into the same category as such infamous, screeching moonbats as Cindy Sheehan, Howard Dean, Michael Moore, Carolyn Parrish, Svend Robinson, Ward Churchill, etc...

Mad Mel Making Amends Big Time

Following is Mel Gibson's statement:
There is no excuse, nor should there be any tolerance, for anyone who thinks or expresses any kind of anti-Semitic remark. I want to apologize specifically to everyone in the Jewish community for the vitriolic and harmful words that I said to a law enforcement officer the night I was arrested on a DUI charge.
I am a public person, and when I say something, either articulated and thought out, or blurted out in a moment of insanity, my words carry weight in the public arena. As a result, I must assume personal responsibility for my words and apologize directly to those who have been hurt and offended by those words.
The tenets of what I profess to believe necessitate that I exercise charity and tolerance as a way of life. Every human being is God's child, and if I wish to honor my God I have to honor his children. But please know from my heart that I am not an anti-Semite. I am not a bigot. Hatred of any kind goes against my faith.
I'm not just asking for forgiveness. I would like to take it one step further, and meet with leaders in the Jewish community, with whom I can have a one on one discussion to discern the appropriate path for healing.
I have begun an ongoing program of recovery and what I am now realizing is that I cannot do it alone. I am in the process of understanding where those vicious words came from during that drunken display, and I am asking the Jewish community, whom I have personally offended, to help me on my journey through recovery. Again, I am reaching out to the Jewish community for its help. I know there will be many in that community who will want nothing to do with me, and that would be understandable. But I pray that that door is not forever closed.
This is not about a film. Nor is it about artistic license. This is about real life and recognizing the consequences hurtful words can have. Its about existing in harmony in a world that seems to have gone mad.

I don't know about others, but that sounds like a very remorseful man who wants to do whatever it takes to pay for his great wrong.
I don't see very many folks who utter reprehensible slurs going to such lengths to strongly disavow their utterances as "insanity" and sincerely asking the very folks they offensively slurred if they will help him to repent and heal.
Mel recognizes that there's something wrong with him and says he wants to become well again. Obviously he does have some serious problems and might well have been insane at the time he made those reprehensible slurs. And if so, it can't be ruled out that he might still be... and therefore need help.
I believe that he does indeed have some mental problems, exacerbated by his problem with alcohol and whatnot.
Know what? I now believe that hatred is a mental disease... a potentially curable one, for the human brain is programmable, as we well know. And the human brain can be reprogrammed, no doubt.
He continues to vehemently declare that he is not an anti-Semite and that there can be "no tolerance" for anti-Semitism. To me, that is a start.
Know what? I have seen that it is indeed possible to go from harboring bigoted views to exorcising that demon. I cannot recall any examples off the top of my head, but I do indeed know that humans possess the capability of changing for the better and shaking off the darkness that might afflict them.
Of course, it's up to the individual to want to get better and to do whatever it takes to do so.
I say let Mel heal. Let him make contrition. Let him become well again.
If we don't give him the chance to turn himself around, then we can't give anyone else the chance, either, and that'd be a bad thing for our society and for humanity as a whole. People must be allowed to go from badness to goodness... after all, isn't that the Christian, the humane, the good, the right, thing to do?
Well, that's my perspective at this time. I wish Mel well with his rehabilitation and hope he sticks to the work he needs to do to make himself a good person.
He needs the chance. I don't think it would be very humane of us to deem that he cannot be a good person, ever.
Let the man pay. Let him heal. For the better. Then hopefully many, many more will follow in his footsteps and go from bad to good. For the sake of humanity.
On a related note, I would also allow the same opportunity for sincere repentance and healing for Muslims and others like them who are full of hatred for whatever reason. For we know that millions of Muslims are victims of heinous abuse in which they are indoctrinated in little or nothing but sheer, evil hatred of nonMuslims, particularly Jews, and acutally want to commit murder of them.
They, too, can repent and change from evil to good. In fact, here's a case in point: former "Palestinian" jihadist Walid Shoebat. This guy went from jihadist to a staunch, unyielding enemy of the jihadists. He's no longer anti-Semite, nor anti-Israel, for he has seen the light and has changed... and he's on our side in the war against jihad. I would certainly hope so!
You know, I think this recent happenstance with Mr. Gibson might he a sign. A sign to us that we must remember that, yes, there are many people in the world possessed of the mental disorder, the insanity of hatred. And that it is possible for them to be cured of this disease.
Yes, hatred is a mental disease which can be cured. Does anyone really believe that it cannot? Would anger and contempt... or perhaps even hatred itself... be preventing us from believing that people with this mental illness cannot ever be cured, at least in the sense of "recovering alcoholics"?
So...
For the future of humanity, we must leave the door open to the possibility of curing people of the mental disease of hatred.
